I provide expert advice on:
Writing a will is deeply personal experience and it’s important that you choose a qualified will writer; someone who takes the time to understand your exact needs.
The best way to do this is to pick up the phone and arrange a consultation but before you do so I want to explain why I decided to specialise in writing wills.
I studied law at University College London and obtained my honours degree in 1996. After graduation I enjoyed a successful career working in the civil litigation department of a private practice in the City of London. In 2003 I took time out to raise a family and I am now the proud mother of three children, one of whom has special needs.
As the mother of a child with special needs, I had to plan for her future, both short term and long term. I carried out a lot of research into Wills and Trusts and decided this was the area of law I wanted to specialise in.
I was shocked to learn that anyone can open a business and call themselves a will writer – whether they have a legal background or not.
This worried me greatly until I discovered the Institute of Professional Willwriters.
The IPW insist that all members are fully trained and have passed their examination before they can start preparing Wills for the general public.
Members are also required to take part in continuous training schemes in order to ensure their knowledge is up to date and that they offer professional will writing advice. IPW members also carry professional indemnity and public liability insurance to give you the client added peace of mind.
Having qualified as a member of the IPW I opened Will Matters LLP in July 2010 with the aim of providing a will writing service that is knowledgeable, approachable and efficient.
If you have any questions about making a will or to arrange an appointment please contact Will Matters today.
